Our take
A well-used half day for anyone who only wants the volcanic south, and for a little more than the classic Timanfaya tour it adds El Golfo and La Geria. Bear in mind the La Geria and viewpoint stops are about 20 minutes each, enough for photos but not for a winery visit.

The experience
What you will see
- The Timanfaya Volcano Route, with craters and lava rivers.
- The geothermal demonstrations at Islote de Hilario.
- The Green Lagoon at El Golfo.
- The pit-planted vineyards of La Geria.
How it works
You're picked up at your hotel or a nearby stop and the coach heads straight to Timanfaya, where you spend around an hour and a quarter on the guided route and the underground heat demonstrations. Then there's a stop at a viewpoint and at El Golfo to see the green lagoon, and a final one in La Geria before heading back. It takes about five and a half hours in total and doesn't include lunch.
Who I recommend it for
- Anyone who wants Timanfaya without giving up a full day.
- Anyone without a car who wants to add El Golfo and La Geria.
- Families with children who tire on long tours.
Who I don't recommend it for
- Anyone hoping to taste wine at a winery: there's no tasting.
- Wheelchair users: the coaches aren't adapted.
Accessibility
Not suitable for wheelchair users; the coaches are not adapted.
Cancellation policy
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before, with a full refund.
