Our take
It's the simplest and cheapest way to see the Papagayo coves from the sea, with no dirt track or walking, and its score is very high (4.7). It's a short outing: you don't go ashore and drinks are extra. If you're staying in Playa Blanca, it makes a neat half day; if you're based in the north, the drive eats up much of the plan.

The experience
What you'll see
A short Líneas Romero catamaran trip from Playa Blanca to the Papagayo coves, the golden-sand beaches of the Los Ajaches Natural Monument. It's more a swimming trip than a sailing one.
- Lanzarote's south coast, with the Los Ajaches cliffs.
- An hour at anchor in Papagayo bay to swim or snorkel.
- A deck with areas to sit and lie in the sun.
- With the early departure, free time at Marina Rubicón, which has a market on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
How it works
There's no hotel pickup: you leave from Playa Blanca, and the boarding and return point depends on the option you book. According to the published itinerary, there are about twenty minutes of sailing with a short stop, another leg to the bay, an hour of swimming and the return. In total, between an hour and a half and three hours, depending on the option.
The boat anchors in the bay: you don't land on the beach. Snorkelling gear is included, though you can bring your own. Beer, sangria, water, soft drinks and snacks are sold on board; no food or drink is included.
Bring a jacket even if it's sunny: on the way back, with wet hair and the wind, it gets cool. If you get seasick easily, think twice; the operator advises against it.
Who I'd recommend it to
- Anyone staying in Playa Blanca who wants to see Papagayo without a car.
- Families looking for some time at sea without a full day on a boat.
- Anyone who wants to swim in calm water on a tight budget.
Who I wouldn't recommend it to
- Anyone who wants to lie on the sand: with a car, the Papagayo track costs €3 and drops you at the coves.
- Anyone who'd rather paddle: the Papagayo kayak and snorkel tour is more active.
- Anyone after a party on board: party groups and stag or hen dos are not allowed.
Accessibility
Not suitable for wheelchair users.
Cancellation policy
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before, with a full refund.
