Our take
It's a pleasant evening outing to see the south coast in sunset light with a drink in hand, more than a wildlife trip: dolphins aren't guaranteed and the score (4.2) reflects that they don't always show up. If cetaceans are what matter, Tenerife or La Gomera give better odds; if you want sea and sunset without effort, it delivers.

Meeting point
Puerto del Carmen marina and fishing harbour, or one of 17 pickup points across the island.

The experience
What you'll see
Two hours on a catamaran along the Puerto del Carmen coast, with the sunset as the main event and a chance of meeting wild dolphins.
- Lanzarote's south coast from the sea, in sunset light.
- The areas where dolphins often move, with no guarantee of seeing them.
- A swim stop, if the sea allows.
- A welcome mojito, another drink of your choice and a snack box each.
How it works
The transfer is included: you're picked up at one of 17 points around the island (hotels, the Arrecife fairground or the C.C. Centro Atlántico bus stop, among others) and taken to Puerto del Carmen harbour. There are exceptions: Puerto Calero pickup only runs on Thursdays and there's no Playa Blanca pickup on Sundays, Mondays or Wednesdays. If you book less than 24 hours ahead, pickup isn't guaranteed and you'll need to get to the harbour yourself; parking there is free but limited.
The departure time changes with the season to match the sunset. On board there's music, a deck to lie out on and your included drink; anything else is extra. If you're vegetarian or vegan, say so when booking; the operator can't guarantee gluten-free options.
The key thing to know: dolphin sightings are not guaranteed and if none appear there's no refund or new date. If bad weather forces a cancellation, you can choose another date or get your money back.
Who I'd recommend it to
- Couples looking for a relaxed end to the day.
- Anyone staying in Puerto del Carmen or Costa Teguise who doesn't want to drive.
- Anyone who wants to see the coast from the sea without spending a whole day on a boat.
Who I wouldn't recommend it to
- Anyone coming just for the dolphins: there's no guarantee and no compensation.
- Anyone after swimming and coves: the Papagayo mini-cruise is better.
- Anyone prone to seasickness, especially on windy days.
Accessibility
Non-folding wheelchairs and electric mobility scooters are not allowed.
Cancellation policy
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before, with a full refund. If it's cancelled for bad weather, you choose another date or get your money back.
