Our take
Teide is one of the best places in Europe to look at the stars, and this tour combines the sunset above the sea of clouds with real telescopes, not just binoculars. The dinner option adds a long evening (6.5 hours) but saves you looking for a restaurant. It is non-refundable, so book once your dates are fixed, and bring proper warm clothes: people underestimate the cold up there.

Meeting point
Pickup points in Costa Adeje, Playa de las Américas and Los Cristianos (south of Tenerife)

The experience
What you will do
An evening in Teide National Park to watch the sunset above the sea of clouds and then look at one of the darkest skies in Europe. Once night falls, the guide picks the best spot for the conditions, explains the constellations and main stars with laser pointers and sets up professional telescopes to see the Moon, planets, nebulae and star clusters. You also get tips to photograph the sky and the Moon with your phone.
How it works
There are four options:
- With pickup and dinner (6.5 h): €85 per adult. Includes a 3-course dinner with local wine.
- With pickup, no dinner (6.5 h): €70 per adult.
- Driving yourself, with or without dinner (3-4 h): from €40 per adult. You meet the group in the park.
Pickup is from Costa Adeje, Playa de las Américas and Los Cristianos. The operator sends you the exact time on the morning of the tour. Tours run Tuesday to Sunday. Bring warm clothes: at 2,000 metres the night is cold. The booking is non-refundable.
Who I recommend it to
- Anyone staying in the south of Tenerife who wants to see the stars of Teide without driving up in the dark.
- Couples and families with children aged 4 and up.
- If you want a shorter evening, take the drive-yourself option without dinner.
Accessibility
Not wheelchair accessible.
