Our take
Doñana is a very different plan from Seville's monuments: marshes, dunes, deer, horses and, in autumn and winter, thousands of birds. Without your own car it's hard to organise, and this trip solves that with hotel pickup, the 4x4 inside the park and the stop in El Rocío. It's pricey for two; with more people the price per head goes down.

The experience
What you'll see
An 8.5-hour trip from Seville to Doñana National Park, one of Europe's most important wetlands and a stopover for hundreds of bird species on their way to Africa. From El Acebuche visitor centre there's a 4x4 tour of about 3.5 hours through marshes, dunes and scrubland. Then you stop for lunch in the village of El Rocío and, on the way back to Seville, visit the almost Martian landscape of the Río Tinto.
How it works
You're picked up at your accommodation in Seville and brought back there. The 4x4 inside the park may be shared with other visitors. Lunch isn't included. The price is per person, with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 9.
Who I recommend it for
- Nature lovers and birdwatchers.
- Anyone who has already seen Seville's monuments and wants something different.
- Not a good choice with back problems or during pregnancy, given the bumpy 4x4 ride.
