Our take
The Caminito del Rey is much closer to Málaga than to Seville, and without a car it's hard to do in a day. This trip solves that with private return transport and tickets already included, which sell out weeks ahead in high season. The price is per group, €620 for 1 or 2 people: expensive for a couple. With 4 people, €880 in total, it's €220 a head. Note that the route guide is shared; it's the car that's private.

The experience
How the day works
You're picked up from your accommodation in Seville and in about 2 hours reach El Chorro, where the Caminito del Rey begins. The route covers about 3 km of almost flat ground through the Gaitanes gorge, on walkways clinging more than 100 metres above the river, bridges over the reservoir and dizzying viewpoints.
The path is named after King Alfonso XIII, who walked it when he opened the dam. Afterwards, back to Seville.
