Our take
It's the way to see Lanzarote's seabed if you don't dive, and it works especially well with children: wrecks and fish without getting wet, in an hour. Value for money is its weakest score (4.2), and visibility depends on the day. If you're in the south, combine it with a stroll around Puerto Calero marina.

The experience
What you'll see
A real dive on the Sub Fun Tres submarine, with 44 seats and 22 large windows, which goes down to 30 metres off Puerto Calero. According to the operator, it's one of only a handful of tourist submarines in the world.
- Three shipwrecks on the sandy seabed.
- Atlantic fish swimming freely around the hull.
- An audio guide in 10 languages about marine ecosystems and why they need protecting.
- Afterwards, a personalised certificate and free time at the marina.
How it works
The meeting point is the Submarine Safaris office at Marina Puerto Calero (Module C, Unit 2), 30 minutes before your dive. There are several departures a day; the booking page mentions 11:00, 12:00, 13:00 and 14:00, among others.
If you choose the pickup option, it depends on the time: the 11:00 and 13:00 dives only collect from Playa Blanca, and the 12:00 and 14:00 dives only from Costa Teguise and Puerto del Carmen. Outside those areas, you'll need to get there yourself.
Once aboard you sit by a window, put on the headphones and the submarine descends. The cabin stays at normal atmospheric pressure, so you won't feel it in your ears. The dive lasts about an hour; food and drink aren't included, but there are bars and restaurants at the marina.
Who I'd recommend it to
- Families with children aged 2 and over.
- Anyone who wants to see the seabed without diving or getting wet.
- Anyone staying in Puerto del Carmen, Playa Blanca or Costa Teguise who can use the pickup.
Who I wouldn't recommend it to
- Anyone who already scuba dives: a tank dive in Lanzarote will give you much more.
- Anyone after a day of sailing and swimming: the Papagayo mini-cruise is better.
- Anyone with babies under 2: they can't board.
Accessibility
GetYourGuide doesn't list it as accessible; check with the operator if you need help boarding.
