This is the serious option for hiking the summits: a qualified mountain guide, groups of eight at most and lunch included, at a very reasonable price. Watch the pickup zones, which leave out Las Palmas and much of the Mogán coast.

The experience
What you will see
- The mountains of the island's centre, near Pico de las Nieves (1,949 m).
- Canary Island pine forests.
- The silhouette of Roque Nublo.
- In clear weather, the east and south coasts and Mount Teide on Tenerife.
How it works
You're picked up at your hotel in a nine-seat minibus and driven up to the summits. There you hike with an international mountain guide: 7 km on Sundays and Wednesdays, 10 km on Mondays (about 7 km in summer). There's a lunch stop before heading back to the hotel. The whole day takes around 8 to 9 hours.
Who I recommend it for
- Keen walkers who want a professional guide and a small group.
- Anyone who'd rather not drive up to the summits.
Who I don't recommend it for
- Anyone staying in Las Palmas or the Mogán and Puerto Rico area (no pickup).
- Anyone with respiratory issues.
Accessibility
Not suitable for people with mobility impairments.
Cancellation policy
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before, with a full refund.
