Our take
It's the cheapest way to see the north and the summits from the south without driving mountain roads yourself. The trade-off is a big coach with short stops and lots of bends: if you get car sick, sit at the front. To enjoy Roque Nublo at leisure, a dedicated tour is better.

The experience
What you will see
- Arucas, with its neo-Gothic church of dark volcanic stone and free time to wander.
- Firgas, the "balcony of the Atlantic", with the cascading fountain in its old town.
- Valleseco, in the northern uplands, where the tour stops for lunch.
- The summits: the Cruz de Tejeda viewpoint and Roque Nublo, the symbol of the island.
- The descent via San Bartolomé de Tirajana, with views of Santa Lucía.
- An aloe vera farm as the final stop.
How it works
You're picked up in your southern resort (Playa del Inglés, Maspalomas, Meloneras, San Agustín, Bahía Feliz, Taurito or Puerto de Mogán) and the coach heads north. The first part of the day is about the towns: around 45 minutes of free time in Arucas and the same in Firgas. Then there's a stop at a restaurant in Valleseco, where you can have lunch if you like (not included).
Later the route enters the Protected Landscape of the Summits, with viewpoint stops, the Cruz de Tejeda and the visit to Roque Nublo. The return drops down through San Bartolomé de Tirajana and ends at an aloe vera farm before you're dropped back in your area. In all it takes about 8 hours.
Practical tips
- Bring a jacket: at the summits, above 1,500 metres, it's much cooler than on the coast.
- The road has lots of bends. If you get car sick, ask for a seat near the front.
- Bring money for lunch, which isn't included.
- This tour is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
- If you want to walk up Roque Nublo, check our hiking guide: this tour is scenic, not a hike.
Who I recommend it for
- Visitors staying in the south who don't want to drive mountain roads.
- Anyone short on time who wants to see the north, the summits and the south in one go.
Who I don't recommend it for
- People who get car sick.
- Anyone who prefers small groups and long stops.
Accessibility
Not recommended for people with reduced mobility.
Cancellation policy
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before, with a full refund.
