Our take
The track to Cofete and Punta Jandía is long and bumpy, and doing it in a 4x4 with a driver saves you from taking a hire car whose insurance usually excludes these tracks. This version adds the Punta Jandía lighthouse to Cofete. Its rating (4.4/5) is a little lower than other Cofete trips, so compare before booking.

The experience
What you will see
- Cofete beach, 14 km of undeveloped sand.
- Villa Winter and the stories around it.
- The Punta Jandía lighthouse, at the island's southern tip, and the village of El Puertito.

How it works
You are picked up in your southern resort and head up the Jandía Natural Park tracks by 4x4. You stop at the viewpoints above Cofete, go down to the beach and Villa Winter while the driver-guide explains the plants, wildlife and history, then continue to the Punta Jandía lighthouse with free time in El Puertito before heading back.

- Anyone wanting Cofete and the lighthouse in one outing.
Who I don't recommend it for
- Anyone prone to motion sickness on bumpy dirt tracks.
- Anyone staying in the north: there is no pickup there.
