Our take
It's one of the best-rated day trips in Fuerteventura and, in a group of eight, it feels personal. It solves the trickiest part of Cofete: driving the track without risking your hire car. The only drawback is language: there's no Spanish-speaking guide, and if you're staying in the north, bear in mind that pickup is only in Jandía.

The experience
What you'll see
- The Cofete track, which crosses the Jandía peninsula over the island's highest peaks.
- The Cofete viewpoint, with the whole beach below you.
- Villa Winter, the house of German engineer Gustav Winter, with a guided visit.
- Cofete beach and the small cluster of houses beside it.
How it works
You're picked up in Jandía in a vehicle for a group of up to eight people. The published itinerary is: a 10-minute secret stop, the Cofete viewpoint (10 minutes), a guided visit to Villa Winter (35 minutes) and free time on the beach (35 minutes), then back to Jandía. About four hours in all.
There's an access fee at Villa Winter; the GetYourGuide listing mentions it both as included and as an additional fee, so confirm it in your booking. The house is private property and its history (built in the mid-20th century, with disputed dates) has fuelled all sorts of legends.
Language: the tour runs in German, English or Polish, with one main language per group.
Practical tips
- Weather: in bad weather the track may close and the itinerary changes.
- Swimming: Cofete has very strong surf and currents and no lifeguards. Walk and paddle instead.
- What to bring: drinks, comfortable shoes and something for the wind, which blows hard at Cofete.

- Anyone interested in the story of Villa Winter, with someone to explain it.
Who I would NOT recommend it to
- Anyone who needs a Spanish-speaking guide (or another language not offered).
- Anyone who wants to spend the day at Cofete: beach time is about 35 minutes.
Accessibility
Not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
