The rebuilt Santiago Bernabéu is one of Madrid's most popular visits, and over bank holidays, school holidays and weekends some tour slots sell out. But at the Bernabéu the most common problem isn't capacity, it's the fixture list: on a match day the tour closes early and you lose the dressing rooms and dugouts. These are the options left, in the order worth trying them.
What options are left?
| If you want… | Option | From |

| Not to be tied to a time | Classic Flexible Time, any time that day | €44 |
| To buy on the spot | Stadium box office | €40 |

1. The official website: ticket types and prices
Official sales are on Real Madrid's website (realmadrid.com, Tour Bernabéu section). There are four tickets for the general public:
| Ticket | What it includes | Online | Box office |
|---|---|---|---|
| Classic | Museum, panoramic view, dressing rooms and dugouts | €37 | €40 |
| Classic + RM Games | The same plus the RM Games zone | €59 | €62 |
| Classic Flexible Time | As Classic, at any time on your chosen day | €44 | €47 |
| Guided Tour | As Classic, with a guide | €56 | €59 |
Tickets are timed: they're only valid for the date and slot you choose, except Flexible Time. And they can't be changed or refunded.
If your slot is sold out:
- Check other slots on the same day. You go round at your own pace in an hour and a half to two hours, so going in at 4pm instead of 11am won't change your plans much.
- Check Flexible Time. For €7 more you forget about slots: you walk in whenever you arrive that day.
- Check the Guided Tour. It has its own departures and sometimes has space when the Classic is full.
Hours: every day except 25 December and 1 January; Monday to Saturday 9am-7pm, Sundays and public holidays 9:30am-6:30pm.
2. Match days
This spoils more visits than capacity does:
- The tour closes 5.5 hours before kick-off. A 9pm match leaves you until 3:30pm.
- Dressing rooms and dugouts are closed on match day and the day before. The rest of the tour stays open.
- Exact match dates are only confirmed 2 to 3 weeks ahead. If you book well in advance, check the fixtures once they're out.
The official site lists specific closures. On 1 November 2026 it was announcing, for example, dressing rooms and dugouts closed on 5, 6, 9 and 10 November, and reduced hours of 9am-3:30pm on 21 and 24 November and 19 January.
3. The box office
The stadium box office sells same-day tickets €3 dearer than online, and only if there's space in the slot. With an online ticket (printed or on your phone) you go straight to the Avenida de Concha Espina entrance without queuing at the box office. Metro: Santiago Bernabéu, line 10.
4. A reseller ticket or a guided tour
If the official site won't give you the time you want, or you're wary of buying something you can't change:
- Official tour ticket (from €37): the same price as the official one, self-guided, with the museum, dressing rooms and dugouts. Also non-refundable.
- Guided tour with a football expert (from €58): 105 minutes to 2 hours with a radio headset, and free cancellation up to 24 hours before, which the official ticket doesn't offer. If your dates aren't fixed, it's the safest choice.
5. If you can't get in: alternatives
- The Riyadh Air Metropolitano tour, Atlético de Madrid's stadium (from €25): an interactive museum, dressing rooms and the presidential box.
- The Bernabéu from outside in a private electric tuk-tuk: 1 hr 15 min past Cibeles, Colón, AZCA, the stadium, the Salamanca district and the Retiro, from €79 per tuk-tuk (up to 4 people). It doesn't go inside the stadium.
When it sells out and how far ahead to book
The official site doesn't say how far ahead sales open or flag sold-out slots. This is our advice:
- Bank holidays, Easter, Christmas and summer: book one or two weeks ahead, but wait until the fixture list is confirmed.
- Weekends without a match: a few days ahead is usually enough.
- Weekdays outside school holidays: there's usually space even on the day.
Common mistakes
- Booking without checking the fixtures. You could miss the dressing rooms and dugouts, and the ticket can't be changed.
- Counting on changing the date. Official tickets can't be changed or refunded.
- Arriving late for your slot with a Classic ticket. It's only valid at your time; if you can't be sure of the time, buy Flexible.
- Underestimating the stairs. The official site warns that the route has many flights of stairs.
- Paying at the box office what costs less online. It's €3 more per person.
In a nutshell
If the Bernabéu Tour is sold out, try another time, Flexible Time or the Guided Tour on the official site, always check the fixtures, and if you need to be able to cancel, the guided tour from €58 allows it up to 24 hours before. To fit it into your trip, see Madrid in 3 days.
