Our take
This is the way to actually set foot on the 1730 eruption landscape, which you only see through the window on the Timanfaya coach. The price is fair and the geology is the highlight; wear closed shoes, because the volcanic gravel gets everywhere.

- Lava flows, solidified lava lakes and the remains of lava tubes.
- How life slowly returns to the lava.
How it works
You meet at Camino Testeina (or get picked up if you choose that option) and walk about 8 km with the guide through Los Volcanes Natural Park, climbing some cones and crossing lava flows while learning how the landscape formed.

Who I don't recommend it for

- Anyone wanting to see the geysers at Islote de Hilario: those are in the National Park.
