Our take
This is the best way to see the Costa Brava the way it looks on postcards: from the water, paddling into caves and coves with no land access. With almost 1,400 reviews and a 4.7 rating, the guides are what reviewers mention most. If you are staying in Girona, it is the ideal half-day plan to pair with lunch in Sant Feliu or Calella.

Meeting point
Escola de Vela i Kayak Sant Pol. Passeig de Sant Pol, s/n, 17220 S'Agaró (Sant Feliu de Guíxols), Girona.
The school is on Sant Pol beach, between Sant Feliu de Guíxols and S'Agaró. From Girona it is about 35 minutes by car on the C-65; Sarfa buses also run to Sant Feliu. Arrive 15 minutes early to change.
The experience
What you will do
You set off from Sant Pol beach in S'Agaró and paddle along the bay for about two hours:
- Coves and caves you can only reach by sea, with narrow passages between the rocks.
- Snorkel stop of about 20 minutes to see fish and, with luck, an octopus.
- Cliffs and islets on the prettiest stretch of the southern Costa Brava.
How it works
You book a time slot, arrive at the school 15 minutes early and get all the gear. After a safety briefing on the beach you head out in a group of up to 14 with an instructor. You paddle a double kayak, so no experience is needed.
Who I recommend it for
- Visitors staying in Girona who want half a day at sea without an organised coach trip.
- Families with children over 7 who can swim.
- Anyone who wants cove photos without hunting for parking on the coast.
Who I don't recommend it for
- Anyone who cannot swim: they will not be allowed to take part.
- Visitors without a car and short on time: the bus from Girona takes over an hour.
Accessibility
Not accessible for people with reduced mobility: you get in and out of the kayak from the beach and paddle for about two hours.
Cancellation policy
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the activity, with a full refund. If the sea conditions cancel the tour, it is rescheduled or refunded.
