Our take
It's Fuerteventura's most-reviewed dolphin trip and fairly priced for two hours with drinks and a swim. The rating (4.2) is lower than for other activities: some reviewers mention shortened trips or no swim, and you feel it when the sea is rough. Book it for a calm day and don't treat sightings as guaranteed.

The experience
What you'll see
- Dolphins and, with luck, whales off the Jandía coast.
- The southern coast of the Jandía peninsula from the sea.
- Morro Jable harbour and the Matorral beaches.
How it works
You board the Magic Dolphin, a modern multi-deck boat, in Morro Jable harbour. For about two hours the crew looks for cetaceans off the south coast while a guide explains which species live in these waters and how to approach them without disturbing them: the operator follows a marine mammal protection protocol. There's a swim stop and drinks on board.
If you book with a transfer, you're picked up at points in Costa Calma, Esquinzo, Morro Jable or Jandía, about a five-minute walk from hotels in the area. If you go on your own, you need to be at the harbour 30 minutes beforehand.
Practical tips
- Sightings: not guaranteed. These are wild animals.
- Sea: the south of Jandía is more sheltered from the trade wind than the north, but in strong wind the boat moves. If you get seasick, take something before boarding.
- What to bring: swimwear, a towel, sunscreen and a layer for the way back.
- Age: from 2 years old.
Who I'd recommend it to
- Anyone staying in Jandía, Morro Jable or Costa Calma.
- Families who want a short sea trip with a swim included.
Who I would NOT recommend it to
- Anyone who gets seasick easily.
- Anyone looking for a serious wildlife trip in a small group: it's a large tourist boat.
- Anyone staying in the north: it's more than an hour and a half from Corralejo.
Accessibility
Not suitable for people with reduced mobility or wheelchair users.
Cancellation policy
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before, with a full refund.
