Our take
It is the most compact way to see the three must-sees of the Bizkaia coast without giving up a whole day. A 4.7 rating from thousands of reviews speaks well of the guides; if you can, pick the small group so the Gaztelugatxe climb feels less crowded.

The experience
What you will see
- San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, the islet hermitage made famous as Dragonstone.
- Mundaka, a seafaring village inside the Urdaibai biosphere reserve.
- Gernika, with its tree and the memory of the bombing that inspired Picasso.
How it works
You meet the guide by the Guggenheim's Puppy (or get picked up at your hotel on some options). The first stop is Gaztelugatxe, around two hours to cross the bridge and climb to the hermitage. Then come an hour and a half in Mundaka and another hour and a half in Gernika before heading back to Bilbao.
Who I recommend it for
- Travellers short on time who want the essentials of the Bizkaia coast.
- Anyone who prefers a small or private group with comfortable transport.
Who I don't recommend it for
- People with reduced mobility: there are many stairs and uneven ground.
- Anyone who also wants Bermeo or a wine tasting: full-day trips cover that.
Accessibility
Not suitable for people with reduced mobility because of the stairs and uneven ground.
Cancellation policy
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before, with a full refund.
