Our take
Of the shared Dalí day trips from Barcelona, this is the one that gets you inside his house in Portlligat, which is where you really understand him. The minibus keeps the group small and the guides get very good reviews. The weak point: the house entry is paid in cash on the day, and several travellers did not expect it, so take it into account.

Meeting point
C/ Palau de la Música, 1, 08003 Barcelona (next to the Palau de la Música Catalana).

The experience
The route
- Figueres: the Dalí Theatre-Museum, the building Dalí designed himself and where he is buried. Entry included.
- Cadaqués (September to June): time for lunch and a walk through the white village that inspired him.
- Portlligat (September to June): visit to the fishermen's huts Dalí turned into his home and studio. Entry about 15 €, in cash.
- Púbol (July and August): a medieval village and the Gala Dalí Castle, instead of Cadaqués and Portlligat.
How it works
You leave from the Palau de la Música in a minibus of up to 16 people with an English-speaking guide, and you come back to Barcelona in the evening. The guide tells you the story of Dalí and Gala on the way.
Who I recommend it for
- Those who want to see Dalí's house, not just the museum.
- Those who prefer a small group to a 50-seat coach.
Who I don't recommend it for
- Those who need a Spanish-speaking guide.
- Those who want to see Girona too: this route doesn't stop there.
Accessibility
Not suitable for reduced mobility or wheelchairs: there is a lot of walking, and Cadaqués has steep cobbled streets.
Cancellation policy
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before, with a full refund.
