Our take
The Río Tinto is one of Europe's strangest landscapes: red water, ochre banks and ground NASA studies for its similarity to Mars. Private transport from Seville takes the planning out of the day, and the route combines the mines, the mining train, the English quarter and the natural area. It's expensive for two at €388 each, and still €244 a head with four. It suits nature-loving families and photographers wanting something other than the white villages. If you have a car, you can do it independently for much less.
