Our take
Mérida has Spain's finest Roman remains, and it isn't easy to do as a day trip from Seville without a car. This trip sorts it: private transport from your accommodation, theatre and amphitheatre tickets, and time for the Temple of Diana, the circus, Santa Eulalia and the aqueduct. It gets cheaper per person the more of you there are: €394 each for two, €175 each for four. It's for Roman-history enthusiasts; if Itálica was enough for you, the long drive may not be worth it.
