Our take
For a group of four it works out cheaper per head than renting two 2-seaters for the northern buggy route. Note that it does not go to Timanfaya but through Guatiza, Mala and Las Nieves, and its 4.4 rating sits a little below other buggy routes on the island.

The experience
What you will see
- The villages and fields of Guatiza, Charco del Palo and Mala.
- Mirador de las Nieves, at 610 metres.
- The old lime kilns of Teguise.
- Tracks by the old dam and the volcanic landscape of the north.
How it works
You leave Costa Teguise in convoy behind the guide, with a maximum of five buggies, and head north on roads and tracks up to the highest point of the route. You stop at the viewpoint for photos and return along a bumpier dirt stretch.
Who I recommend it for
- Families and groups of four who want to share one vehicle.
- Anyone after some adrenaline with no experience needed.
Who I don't recommend it for
- Pregnant women or people with back problems.
- Anyone wanting to see Timanfaya: this route covers the north.
Accessibility
GetYourGuide lists it as wheelchair accessible; as it's an off-road buggy, check conditions with the provider before booking.
