If you value the Andalusian Renaissance over the Alhambra (which is also Nasrid) or the white villages (which are Arab-Berber), Úbeda and Baeza are the destination. Both cities are UNESCO World Heritage and preserve architectural ensembles from Spain's Golden Age that few places in Europe can match in a single block. The price (€135) is one of the highest in Granada's day-trips catalogue, justified by the distance (~150 km) and the dual destination. The operator Discovering Spain has a good reputation (the same one running the Originals Alpujarra version). The 4.5 provider rating (not from individual reviews) is solid but not as tested as other excursions — worth booking a few days ahead because the tour requires a minimum number of participants to confirm. This is a day trip for travellers who already know the basics of Granada (Alhambra, Albayzín) and want to go deeper into the Andalusian Renaissance.
