Our take
The real value is access to small wineries around Bandama that don't open to mass tourism, and meeting the winemaker, in a very small group. The 4.9/5 rating is outstanding. It's pricey for half a day, but the transport solves the problem of driving after a tasting.

The experience
What you will see
- Bandama Caldera, with views from the top of the volcano.
- Historic villages of the interior on the way to the winery.
- A family winery and its vineyards, shown by the winemaker.
How it works
You're picked up at your hotel and driven by van to Bandama for the first viewpoint stop. About 20 minutes later you reach the winery, where you spend around two hours: a walk through the vineyards and cellar with the winemaker and an outdoor tasting of artisan wines paired with local products. Afterwards you're taken back to your hotel.

- Couples and small groups of adults.
Who I don't recommend it for
- Families with under-18s.
- Anyone after a quick, cheap tasting.
