Our take
It shows a very different Gran Canaria from the southern beaches: green ravines, running water and laurel forest. The hike is short but involves water and rock, so footwear matters. It's pricey for a 3 km walk, though pickup and the tasting are included.

- Hotel pickup and drop-off
- Air-conditioned transport
- Guide
- Local produce tasting
- Photos taken by the guide

Things to keep in mind
- 3 km easy-to-moderate hike of about 2 hours, with stream crossings and rocky sections

The experience
What you will see
- Firgas, known as the "city of water", with its old mills and Atlantic views.
- The Azuaje ravine, a remnant of the ancient Doramas forest, with laurel woodland and streams.
- The ruins of the old Azuaje spa, hidden in the ravine.
- Ecofinca Ventana Verde, a sustainable farm.
- The El Puertillo natural pools on the north coast.
How it works
You're picked up in your area and head north. After half an hour in Firgas, you hike the Azuaje ravine (about 3 km and 2 hours, crossing streams) and stop at the organic farm to taste its produce. You finish with a swim in the El Puertillo rock pools before heading back.
Who I recommend it for
- Anyone who wants to see the island's green north and fancies something other than the beach.
- Families with children aged 5+ who are used to walking.
Who I don't recommend it for
- Anyone who doesn't want wet feet or rocky ground.
- Anyone prone to carsickness on winding roads.
Accessibility
Not suitable for people with mobility impairments.
Cancellation policy
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before, with a full refund.
