Our take
This is the best first introduction to Girona: in two and a half hours you see the walls, the cathedral, the Call and the Onyar with someone explaining what you are looking at. It is run by the same company as the Game of Thrones tour, with an equally high rating. If you are torn between the two, choose this one if you care more about history than the show.

The experience
What you will see
In about 2.5 hours you walk the essentials of the Barri Vell:
- The city walls, with views over the rooftops and the cathedral.
- The cathedral, with the widest Gothic nave in the world.
- The Call, the old Jewish quarter, with its narrow streets and steps.
- The Onyar river and the iron bridge by Eiffel's firm.
- Some Game of Thrones locations.
How it works
You meet the guide in Plaça de Sant Feliu and walk the route in a small group. Monuments are explained from outside; at the end the guide recommends what to visit inside and where to eat.
Who I recommend it for
- First-time visitors to Girona.
- Anyone more interested in the city's history than the show.
Who I don't recommend it for

- People with reduced mobility: there are many steps.
Accessibility
Not suitable for wheelchairs or reduced mobility: you climb onto the walls and there are many steps.
