Our take
It blends the best of inland Girona and the coast at a comfortable pace with very small groups, and the 4.9/5 score backs that up. Compared with similar trips, Peratallada offers a medieval village far quieter than Pals; the trade-off is that there's no hotel pickup.

The experience
What you'll see
- Girona's old town and city walls, with a stop to try a xuixo pastry.
- Peratallada, one of the best-preserved medieval villages in the Empordà.
- Calella de Palafrugell, an old fishing village with coves and two-storey fishermen's houses.
How it works
You meet in central Barcelona and reach Girona by minivan in about an hour for a guided walk of around 75 minutes. Then you head to Peratallada to explore it with the guide, and finish in Calella de Palafrugell with about two hours free to eat, stroll or swim. The drive back to Barcelona takes just over an hour and a half.
