Our take
It packs both sides of Rioja into one day, Haro in Rioja Alta and Laguardia in Rioja Alavesa, with two very different wineries. The group is large and lunch is extra, but for the price it is one of the most complete ways to see the area without a car.

The experience
What you will see
- Haro, the capital of Rioja wine, with a century-old winery and Plaza de la Paz.
- Laguardia, a walled town among vineyards, and a small family winery.
- The Marqués de Riscal building in Elciego on the way back.
How it works
You leave central Bilbao by coach and reach Haro in about an hour for a winery visit with a tasting and a guided walk through the old town. Then it is on to Laguardia: a stroll through its streets, a visit to a traditional winery with two wines and an hour and a half of free time for lunch. On the way home you pass through Elciego before returning to Bilbao.
Who I recommend it for

Who I don't recommend it for
- Anyone wanting a small group: there can be up to 50 people.
- People with limited mobility.
