Our take
Having working artists explain Serra or Rothko changes the visit quite a lot: it is more about how the works are made than about dates. With groups of 8 and a 4.9/5 rating, it is one of the Guggenheim tours I would recommend most.

Good to know
Things to keep in mind

Meeting point
In front of Puppy, Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Abandoibarra Etorbidea, 2, Bilbao.
The meeting point is in front of the Puppy sculpture at the museum entrance.
The experience
What you will see
- Frank Gehry's building from outside, with its titanium curves.
- The outdoor sculptures: Louise Bourgeois's Maman and Jeff Koons's Puppy.
- The Matter of Time, Richard Serra's huge steel pieces.
- The permanent collection, with works by Rothko, De Kooning and Warhol.
How it works
You meet in front of Puppy. The tour starts outside the building and continues inside for an hour and a half, led by a guide who is an artist. Afterwards you can stay in the museum for the rest of the day on the same ticket.
Who I recommend it for
- Anyone who wants to understand contemporary art without an academic lecture.
- People who prefer small groups.
Who I don't recommend it for
- Anyone who just wants to see the museum on their own: a ticket is enough.
Accessibility
Wheelchair-accessible route.
Cancellation policy
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before, with a full refund.
