Our take
This is the way to see Barcelona and Montserrat in one day without dealing with trains and rack railways. It makes sense if you're short on time, especially if you arrive by cruise, since you're picked up at the port and brought back in time. The Barcelona part is a panoramic overview: you see the Sagrada Família from outside, and going in costs €25 more and has to be requested. If you already know the city, a Montserrat-only tour is cheaper.

Good to know

- Not wheelchair accessible and pets aren't allowed
- Infants can't sit on laps: they need their own seat

The experience
What you'll see
A full day combining Barcelona and Montserrat. In the morning the guide shows you the city essentials: the Sagrada Família from outside, Passeig de Gràcia with Casa Milà, Montjuïc hill and El Born, the nicest part of the old town. Then you head up to Montserrat: natural park admission, views of its rock peaks and skip-the-line access to the basilica of Santa Maria de Montserrat.
How it works
You're picked up at your hotel or the cruise port in an air-conditioned vehicle. The group is 12 people maximum and the guide speaks English. You can keep your luggage in the vehicle, so it also works on arrival or departure day: at the end you're dropped off at your hotel, the port, the airport or the Sagrada Família. Lunch isn't included.
If you want to go inside the Sagrada Família at the end, email the operator after booking with each person's name and passport: the ticket costs €25 and depends on availability.
Who I recommend it for

- Anyone short on time who wants city and mountain without arranging transport.
