Loro Parque, in Puerto de la Cruz on Tenerife's north coast, is the island's most visited animal park: parrots, penguins, orcas, dolphins, gorillas and an aquarium, with four shows a day. The good news is that it is not a hard ticket to get: it opens 365 days a year and almost never sells out. What is worth knowing is what each ticket costs, when the Twin Ticket pays off and what happens if your plans change.

1. Official 2026 prices
We checked the official shop at loroparque.com on 4 November 2026:
- Adults (over 11): €44.
- Children aged 3 to 11: €32.
- Under 3: free.
- Twin Ticket (Loro Parque + Siam Park): €78 for adults and €57 for children.
The ticket covers the whole park and the four shows: parrots, dolphins, orcas and sea lions. Food, parking and the special animal experiences cost extra.
One thing to bear in mind: the park does not refund official tickets. In return, they do not expire and you can use them another day. If you are travelling with children or on a tight schedule, a platform with free cancellation may suit you better.
2. The Twin Ticket: when it pays off
The Twin Ticket combines Loro Parque with Siam Park, the water park in Costa Adeje run by the same group. It saves you €10 compared with two separate tickets, and you have 15 days from your first visit to use the second park. At Siam Park you show the Twin Ticket QR code and the wristband you get on day one.
It is worth it if you will visit both parks on the same trip. If you only care about one, buy the single ticket: the parks are at opposite ends of the island (Puerto de la Cruz in the north, Costa Adeje in the south), about 75 km apart.
3. Official site or GetYourGuide?
The price is the same: €44 for an adult. The difference is in the terms:
- Official site: no refunds, but the ticket can be used another day.
- GetYourGuide: free cancellation up to 24 hours before, with a full refund, and the ticket on your phone.
If your dates are fixed, it makes no difference where you buy. If the weather or the kids decide your plans, free cancellation is insurance that costs nothing.
4. Opening hours, how long to stay and getting there
- Opening hours: every day of the year, 9:30 to 17:30. Show times are handed out at the entrance and listed on the park's website.
- How long: allow 5 to 6 hours to see all four shows without rushing. Arrive at opening time, when Planet Penguin and the aquarium are quieter.
- Free train: it leaves from the Plaza de los Reyes Católicos in Puerto de la Cruz from 9:00, every 20 minutes.
- From the south: from Costa Adeje or Los Cristianos it is a 75-90 minute drive. Day trips with transfers save you the driving.
5. Discounts that exist (and one that doesn't)
- Canary Islands residents: a special price at the ticket office only, with proof of registration (empadronamiento).
- Groups of 20 or more: a group rate on request.
- Spanish police and Guardia Civil: free for local officers and 25% off for those from the rest of Spain, plus partner and children, at the ticket office only.
- Large families: there is no discount.
Orcas and animal welfare
Loro Parque keeps orcas and dolphins and says its shows are part of its education and conservation work through the Loro Parque Fundación. Some animal welfare organisations criticise keeping cetaceans in captivity. If that matters to you, you can visit the park and skip the cetacean shows, or see whales and dolphins in the wild off the south coast.
Mistakes to avoid
- Buying from sites posing as the official one. Several have similar names. The official site is
loroparque.com. - Buying the Twin Ticket for one park. It only saves money if you use both within 15 days.
- Arriving at midday. You miss the first shows and queue longer for the indoor areas.
- Counting on a refund for an official ticket. There isn't one; if your plans may change, buy with free cancellation.
In a nutshell
Book ahead (€44, or €78 for the Twin Ticket if you are also going to Siam Park), arrive at 9:30 and give it the whole day; for more ideas around the island, see what to see in Tenerife.
