The Alhambra is the most sought-after visit in Andalusia and from Málaga it's an easy day trip. The one thing you can't improvise is the ticket: the Nasrid Palaces are visited at a fixed time and in high season they sell out weeks ahead.
Three ways to do it
| Option | Travel | Tickets | Approximate price |

How to plan the day on your own
- Buy your ticket first on the official website, choosing a Nasrid Palaces time around midday so you arrive with time to spare.
- Leave Málaga at 8 AM: you reach Granada around 9:30.
- Alhambra: about 3 hours (Alcazaba, Nasrid Palaces, Palace of Charles V and Generalife).
- Lunch and head down to the Albaicín to see the Alhambra from the San Nicolás viewpoint.
- Return mid-afternoon to avoid driving back in the dark.
The private trip, in detail
About 9 hours: pickup in Málaga, a guided visit of about 3 hours to the Alhambra with the general ticket (Nasrid Palaces, Alcazaba and Generalife), free time for lunch and a guided walk through the Albaicín. If you're staying in Granada, you can finish there. It's the most comfortable option if you don't want to fight for tickets or drive.
