Our take
Seeing the Alhambra in a day from Málaga is doable, but between tickets that sell out, Nasrid Palaces time slots and the miles of road, it pays to have someone organise it. This trip does it all privately and adds something many skip: a guided walk through the Albaicín. For 2 it's expensive, from €397 per person, dropping to €215 a head for 4. If you can get tickets yourself and don't mind the bus, it's cheaper; if you only have one day and want the Nasrid Palaces secured with a guide, it fits.

The experience
What the day is like
You're picked up from your accommodation in Málaga. In Granada the guided visit to the Alhambra begins, lasting about 3 hours: the Nasrid Palaces, the Generalife gardens and palace and the Palace of Charles V. It's the jewel of Nasrid architecture and the last trace of the kingdom of Granada.
After lunch, a guided walk through the Albaicín, a World Heritage Site: narrow lanes, fountains and squares that show how life in the city worked. Then back to Málaga, or the trip ends in Granada if you're staying there.
How it works
About 9 hours, all private. Alhambra and Nasrid Palaces tickets are included. The price is per person, minimum 2 and maximum 7. Lunch is not included.
Who it's for
- Travellers with one day for Granada who don't want to gamble on tickets.
- Families and small groups who'd rather have a guide to themselves.
- Anyone who wants to see the Albaicín too, not just the Alhambra.
Accessibility
The operator doesn't recommend the Albaicín for wheelchair users, because of its slopes and cobbles. Pushchairs aren't allowed in the Alhambra.
Cancellation policy
Free cancellation with a full refund up to 24 hours before. No refund within 24 hours of the start.
