Barcelona is still a hen and stag destination, but the rules have changed: the city has banned bar crawls and fines certain accessories in the street. The good news is that the plans that work best, on a rooftop, on a boat or at a workshop, are not affected. Here is what we sell that fits, with real prices.

First: what has changed in Barcelona
- Bar crawls are banned. Since 29 October 2025 it has been illegal, anywhere in the city and at any hour, to organise, sell or take part in visits to several bars whose main purpose is drinking. That is why we do not recommend any pub crawl here.
- Sexual-themed accessories are fined. The civic ordinance in force since 15 February 2026 bans being in public space with clothing, accessories or objects that depict genitals or are clearly sexual.
- Drinking in the street: fines range from €100 to €600 for minor cases.
None of this affects a tasting, a boat trip or a class at one venue.
The all-rounder: a beer tasting just for your group
Six craft beers with a beer guide on a rooftop on Passeig de Gràcia, designed for hen and stag parties, birthdays and company groups: you do not share the session with strangers. After the tasting you help yourselves to your favourites. Sessions start every half hour between 2 pm and 4 pm, the tasting is in English and the booking is non-refundable.
A laugh without the 4 am finish
- Sip and paint: two and a half hours painting step by step with unlimited sangria, music and dancing at the end, from 5.30 pm on Carrer de la Mercè in the old town. It is a social plan, not an art class, and food is not included. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before.
- Rooftop salsa class: for beginners, with unlimited homemade sangria and views, on Passeig de Gràcia. It starts at 5 pm in November and 4 pm in December. Non-refundable.
The boat party (from March)
Two hours on a two-deck catamaran with a DJ and dance floor off the coast, with vouchers for four drinks each and guest-list entry to a club that same night (get in before 1 am). Check-in is at the Ice Bar on the Barceloneta seafront. Three things to know: no winter sailings (the first available dates are in March), it is non-refundable, and anyone who turns up drunk will not be allowed on board.
A night with karaoke and dinner
The craft beer tasting at Craft Barcelona, in the Gothic Quarter, includes a brewery visit, a guided tasting and drinks afterwards, then live music and optional karaoke. Sessions at 8.30 pm and 10.30 pm. Non-beer drinkers can choose sangria or vermouth.
For dinner, the private tapas and wine tour visits four places in the Gothic Quarter with a guide just for you: €298 for 2, €476 for 4 and €594 for 6, which works out at €99 each for a group of six. For a show, the City Hall flamenco near Plaça de Catalunya runs at 5 pm, 6.45 pm, 8.30 pm and 10 pm. More options in our guide to flamenco in Barcelona.
A keepsake: photo shoot
Photo shoots are priced per session, not per person: 20 minutes with 10 edited photos for €35 by the Sagrada Familia, or 30 minutes with 20 to 25 photos for €68 at the Sagrada Familia, the Gothic Quarter or Park Güell. The quick session delivers edited photos in 24 to 48 hours.
Practical tips
- Book ahead for spring and summer weekends; the boat party fills first.
- Fancy dress: something discreet to mark out the bride or groom. Sexual-themed accessories in the street are what can get you fined.
- Night-time dress code: many venues refuse sportswear, flip-flops or beachwear.
- Timing: the daytime rooftops (beer tasting 2 to 4 pm, salsa in the late afternoon) work before dinner; the Craft tasting after.
- Non-refundable bookings: boat party, private tasting and salsa. If the group is not settled yet, start with the plans that have free cancellation.
Common mistakes
- Booking a "hen party" pub crawl yourself: the ban covers participants too, not just organisers.
- Counting on the boat party in November: there are no sailings until March.
- Walking down La Rambla with risqué novelty accessories: since February 2026 that can mean a fine.
