Casa Batlló sells timed tickets at dynamic prices: the earlier you buy, the less you pay (the official site mentions savings of up to €15 per person). On Spanish bank holidays, at Easter and in summer the morning slots go fast. A sold-out slot doesn't mean you miss the house, because there are more times and ticket types here than at almost any other monument. These are the routes left, in the order worth trying them.
Which ticket should you choose?
| If you want… | Option | From |
|---|---|---|
| A timed ticket, no guide | Casa Batlló: entry with audioguide (official ticket), 4.7★ (27,982) Book | €29 |
| An evening visit with a drink | Casa Batlló: night visit with a glass of cava, 4.4★ (1,930) Book | €29 |
| A visit plus a rooftop concert | Casa Batlló: night visit with live music, 4.5★ (377) Book | €59 |
| Three Gaudí houses with a guide | Casa Vicens, Casa Milà and Casa Batlló: guided tour, 4.6★ (331) Book | €119 |
1. The official website: other times and other ticket types
Official sales are on casabatllo.es, in the online tickets section. The general visit starts at €29 and includes an audio guide in 15 languages; the visit takes about an hour and a quarter. If your time shows as sold out:
- Go through every slot that day: daytime entry runs from 9:00 to 19:45. Mid-morning goes first; the afternoon usually holds out longer.
- Try the Be the First visit: entry between 8:30 and 8:45, with fewer people and the rooftop included. It costs €45 and is sold online only.
- Look at the options with food: the visit with the third floor plus breakfast or tapas (Bon Appétit, from €59) has its own allocation.
- Move your day if you can: with dynamic pricing, the same weekday a week later may also be cheaper.
Before paying, check what each ticket includes: they don't all cover the same things (rooftop, immersive rooms, augmented reality tablet), and only Platinum lets you change the date or time and cancel for free (Gold on Magical Nights). If your plans may change, the difference is worth paying.
2. The night visit
If the day is full, the evening is the easiest way in. The night visit has entry from 20:30 to 21:30, costs from €25 on the official site, includes a glass of cava or a kir royal and is sold online only. Note that it doesn't include the rooftop, and the official site lists it until 15 November.
From March to November there are also Magical Nights: a visit at 20:00 and a rooftop concert at 21:00, with a drink and a table, from €59. Each month's programme is published two or three weeks ahead, and general visit discounts don't apply.
3. The box office
Casa Batlló has a box office in the building, but it only sells the General Visit and, according to the official site, it costs €4 to €15 more than online. It's useful if there's still space in a slot that day, not as a plan for a sold-out day. The night visit, Be the First and Magical Nights are sold online only.
4. A resold ticket or a tour with entry included
When the official site has nothing left, licensed resellers usually still have places because they buy their allocations ahead. You normally pay a bit more than on the official site:
- Timed ticket with audio guide (from €29): the simplest way in if you just want to see the house.
- Night visit with live music (from €59): the Magical Nights experience, with a concert on the rooftop.
- Three Gaudí houses tour (from €119): Casa Vicens, Casa Milà and Casa Batlló with a guide; handy if you haven't sorted La Pedrera either.
Before paying, check that the listing says "Casa Batlló entry included" and shows an entry time. Some Modernisme walks only look at the façades.
5. What you can see without a ticket
If you get nothing, Passeig de Gràcia still has plenty:
- The Casa Batlló façade at number 43, with its bone-like balconies and scaled roof. It's best seen from the opposite pavement.
- The Block of Discord: right next to Casa Batlló is Casa Amatller (number 41, by Puig i Cadafalch), which runs its own guided visits, and on the same block Casa Lleó Morera, by Domènech i Montaner.
- La Pedrera (Casa Milà), further up the same avenue, about 10 minutes on foot.
Mistakes to avoid
- Buying from sites that look like the official one. They overcharge and don't always deliver a valid ticket. The official site is
casabatllo.es. - Buying a ticket that doesn't include the house. The Gaudí-Miró-Gomis exhibition (€15) and the Street Escape game are sold on the same website but don't include a visit to Casa Batlló.
- Assuming the night visit includes the rooftop. The standard night visit doesn't; Magical Nights do end up there, with the concert.
- Arriving late for your slot. Entry is by time slot and Casa Batlló asks you to enter at the time you chose.
In one sentence
If your time is sold out on the official site, try another slot, Be the First or the night visit; if there's nothing left, book a resold timed ticket or a tour that includes entry.
