Our take
This is the alternative to the big catamarans from Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje, which sail with dozens of people. Here the boat is yours alone, you can stay with the pilot whales as long as it makes sense, and you leave from Las Galletas, a much quieter harbour. It is pricey for two; with 4 to 6 people the cost per head gets close to a good shared trip. The 3-hour option is worth it in summer for the swim.

The experience
What you will do
A private boat trip just for your group from Las Galletas, in the south of Tenerife, to see the pilot whales and dolphins that live in the waters between Tenerife and La Gomera all year round. There are two options:
- 2 hours · €450 per boat: whale and dolphin watching.
- 3 hours · €550 per boat: the same 2 hours of watching plus 1 more hour with a swim or snorkel stop, sea conditions permitting.
How it works
The price is per boat, not per person, for groups of 1 to 6 people (babies and children count towards that maximum). Meet at pontoon 5 of Marina del Sur in Las Galletas, 15-20 minutes before departure. Trips leave at 9:00, 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00. Drinks are included and the guide speaks Spanish and English. There is no hotel pickup.
Who I recommend it to
- Families or groups of 4 to 6: the cost per head drops a lot and you have the boat to yourselves.
- Couples looking for something special, without the crowds of the big catamarans.
- Anyone staying in the south (Las Galletas, Los Cristianos, Las Américas, Costa del Silencio).
- If you want something cheap, a shared catamaran from Los Cristianos or Costa Adeje is a better fit.
Accessibility
Not wheelchair accessible. Boarding requires some agility.
