Our take
It's an evening out designed for families with children, who love the horses, the birds and the tournament; adults come for the show, not the food, which is a simple chicken menu. If you're after a proper dinner or you're a couple without kids, it's probably not for you.

The experience
What you will see
Castillo San Miguel is a medieval-style castle built in Aldea Blanca, in the municipality of San Miguel de Abona, a few minutes from the southern resorts. It isn't a historic monument but a venue designed for this show: an evening tournament with a banquet.
- Knights, nobles and ladies of the court in a good-versus-evil storyline.
- A live jousting tournament with Spanish horses.
- A birds of prey display.
- A three-course banquet served during the show.
How it works
The show runs only on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Doors open at 6:30 pm, and before it starts there's a bar selling snacks and drinks. The show runs from 7:30 to 9:30 pm.
You can drive there yourself, with free parking at the castle, or add pickup when booking. From the south there's a transfer on all three days; from the north, Saturdays only.
The menu is fixed: cream of vegetable soup, baked chicken leg with roast potatoes and dressed tomato, and ice-cream cake for dessert. Wine, beer, water and soft drinks are included during the show. The VIP option adds a welcome glass of cava and front-row seats, which give the best view of the arena.
Souvenirs and photos with the Count and Queen are sold during the evening; all of that costs extra. The operator warns that tickets sell out fast, so book a few days ahead in high season.
Who I recommend it for
- Families with children: they love the horses, birds and tournament.
- Groups looking for a different night out in the south.
- Anyone staying in Golf del Sur, Las Américas or Los Cristianos, close to the castle.
Who I don't recommend it for
- Anyone after a gourmet dinner: the food is fine, not memorable.
- Anyone on a special diet who hasn't checked first: the menu is fixed.
- Anyone staying in the north who can't go on a Saturday: the transfer won't work on other days.
Accessibility
GetYourGuide lists it as wheelchair accessible.
