Our take
It's the easiest way to see La Gomera in a day without hiring a car or juggling ferry timetables: the island is small but its roads are slow, and the guide saves a lot of time. The trade-off is ten hours with a lot of travelling and short stops; if you want to walk Garajonay at your own pace, spend a night there.

- Silbo gomero demonstration
- Entry to Garajonay National Park
Not included

The experience
What you will see
La Gomera is under an hour by ferry from Los Cristianos and is the greenest, most mountainous island in the western Canaries. This full-day trip covers the essentials with an official guide:
- Garajonay National Park, a World Heritage Site, with its laurel forest and the Laguna Grande.
- The Hermigua valley, with its farming terraces, and the village of Agulo.
- Roque de Agando, the island's most photographed volcanic plug.
- A demonstration of silbo gomero, the whistled language listed by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage.
- Free time in San Sebastián de La Gomera, the capital.
How it works
You're picked up at one of about 40 points in south Tenerife (hotels, apartments and bus stops, including those of the free Siam Park bus) and taken to Los Cristianos harbour. There you board the Fred. Olsen ferry, included in the price, to San Sebastián de La Gomera. You need an ID card or passport: without one you can be refused boarding.
On La Gomera an air-conditioned coach is waiting. It's about an hour's drive to the Hermigua valley, via La Palmita, then a stop in Agulo for lunch: a Canarian meal with bread, mojo, water and wine, with a vegetarian option. The silbo demonstration happens during lunch.
In the afternoon you head up to Garajonay and the Laguna Grande, with a photo stop at Roque de Agando, then down to San Sebastián for some free time before the return ferry. The order can change due to logistics, weather or road closures.
The guide speaks Spanish and English daily; French and German only on some days, depending on the departure point (south or Puerto de la Cruz).
Who I recommend it for
- Anyone who wants to see another island without hiring a car or arranging the ferry.
- Anyone more interested in Canarian nature and culture than the beach.
- Anyone staying in south Tenerife, near the pickup points.
Who I don't recommend it for
- People with reduced mobility: some stops involve steep climbs.
- Anyone who gets seasick or carsick on winding roads.
- Anyone wanting proper hiking in Garajonay: the stops are short.
Accessibility
Not suitable for people with reduced mobility or wheelchair users.
Cancellation policy
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before, with a full refund.
