Our take
Triana is Seville's best neighbourhood for tapas away from the crowds, and this tour goes to taverns that still feel local: Santa Ana, the market and Las Golondrinas, something of an institution. The guide explains where each dish comes from and why Andalusian food is far more than paella and sangria. For two, €211 each is a lot for 4 tapas and 4 drinks: you're mainly paying for the private guide. With 4 it drops to about €98 a head. Worth it if you want to understand what you're eating; if you just want to graze, Triana is just as good on your own.

The experience
The route
You start at Triana Bridge and cross into the neighbourhood along Calle Betis, with its seafaring past. First stop is Bar Santa Ana, one of Triana's most traditional taverns. Then Triana Market, with its tile-decorated stalls, and the old Inquisition alley, as Triana was once the Inquisition's headquarters. You finish at Las Golondrinas, a 19th-century tavern, with one of its signature dishes.
