Our take
This is Vine Travel's most complete Ribera del Duero day: three wineries with different styles, at least nine wines and a proper Castilian roast lamb lunch, with a sommelier who really explains what's in your glass. The group is small (max 8) and you're picked up from your accommodation. It costs about €395 per person for two (dropping to about €350 per person for four). It's not cheap, but it covers ten hours of transport, lunch and a specialist guide. For red wine lovers who want to understand the region it's worth it; if you just want a quick tasting, there are shorter options.

The experience
How the day works
You're picked up at 7:30 am from your Madrid accommodation and head to Ribera del Duero, Spain's great inland red wine region. Your sommelier picks three wineries with different styles —from small artisan producers to family-run estates— based on availability and the group's preferences.
Over the day you taste at least 9 Tempranillo (Tinta Fina) wines, from young reds to Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva. When possible you'll also try an aged Albillo Mayor white, a rarity: Ribera whites have only been permitted since 2019.
After the first two visits you stop for wood-fired roast suckling lamb with wine. Then the third winery and back to Madrid.
Who it's for
- Red wine lovers who want to really understand Ribera del Duero.
- Couples or small groups who'd rather not drive.
- Anyone keen on an authentic Castilian lunch as part of the day.
