Our take
This is Girona's most-reviewed Game of Thrones tour, and it shows: almost a 5 from close to a thousand reviews. The iPad with the scenes is what sets it apart from going alone, because many corners are digitally altered in the show and hard to recognise. If you only take one guided tour in Girona and you like the series, make it this one.

The experience
The filming locations you will see
In 2015 Girona hosted filming for season 6 of Game of Thrones. The city stood in for Braavos, King's Landing and Oldtown:
- The cathedral steps, the exterior of the Great Sept of Baelor.
- The Pujada de Sant Domènec, where Arya's chase through Braavos was filmed.
- The Arab Baths and the Call, the old Jewish quarter.
- The monastery of Sant Pere de Galligants, which became the Citadel in Oldtown.
How it works
You meet the guide in Plaça de Sant Feliu and walk through the Barri Vell for about 2 hours. At each location the guide shows you the scene filmed there on an iPad and explains the real history of the place.
Who I recommend it for
- Fans of the show who want to see the locations with the scene in front of them.
- First-time visitors to Girona who want the highlights with a guide.
Who I don't recommend it for
- Anyone who wants to go inside the cathedral or Arab Baths: the tour stays outside.
- People with reduced mobility: there are many steps.
Accessibility
Not suitable for wheelchairs: the Barri Vell has many steps and steep streets.
Cancellation policy
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before, with a full refund.
