Our take
An hour and a half very well explained by specialists, with the ticket included and at a reasonable price. It is one of the best ways to understand Córdoba's most important monument, especially if you want a tour in French.

The experience
What you will see
The tour follows the history of the building in order:
- The Visigothic basilica of San Vicente, on which the first mosque was built.
- The mosque of Abd al-Rahman I (8th century), with the famous double arches of red and white voussoirs, a solution that gave the building height.
- The extensions by Abd al-Rahman II, Al-Hakam II (with the mihrab and its mosaics) and Almanzor.
- The cathedral built in the centre after the conquest by Ferdinand III and the conversion of the building into a Christian church.
Tip
After the visit, step out into the Patio de los Naranjos and cross the Roman bridge to see the Mosque from the other bank of the Guadalquivir.
