Our take
The least crowded Gaudí house and one of the most photogenic: you can explore it calmly, without the queues of the Batlló or La Pedrera. For anyone who has already seen the big ones, it is the logical next stop.

The experience
What you will see
Casa Vicens (1883-1885) was Antoni Gaudí's first major commission: a summer house for the stockbroker Manuel Vicens, in what was then the village of Gràcia. It has been a World Heritage Site since 2005.
On the outside, the highlights are the green and white tiles with carnation flowers and the Oriental-inspired turrets. Inside, the smoking room with its muqarnas ceiling, the dining room with painted birds and the roof terrace, from which you can see Gràcia.
Tip
Download the audio guide before you go and bring headphones. Afterwards, wander down through Gràcia to Plaça de la Virreina or Plaça del Sol.

The house is accessible for people with reduced mobility according to the provider.
