Our take
A tour for eating well and understanding Spanish food without falling into a tourist trap: five stops through Poble-sec, El Raval, La Boqueria and the Gothic Quarter, from vermouth and pintxos to churros with chocolate, with a guide just for you. The rating is excellent: 4.9 out of 5 from 35 reviews. From about €128 per person for two and about €98 each for four. If you're more into wine than food, the same operator runs a tavern tour focused on wine and cava.

The experience
How the route works
You meet at the door of El Molino theatre and start in Poble-sec, with pintxos, vermouth and croquettes. Next comes bohemian, multicultural El Raval, for patatas bravas, tortilla and pan con tomate. At La Boqueria market it's Iberian ham and Manchego cheese, and dessert is churros with chocolate at one of the city's oldest churrerías, in the Gothic Quarter.
In all, more than 11 tastings and 3 drinks per person, with a guide who explains Spanish and Catalan food and shares tips for the rest of your trip.
Who it's for
- Anyone who wants to taste real Spanish food in a single afternoon.
- Groups of friends or families: the tour adapts to vegetarians, vegans and coeliacs.
