Our take
This is the most efficient way to visit two UNESCO heritage cities in a single day from Madrid without renting a car. The plan works: 12-hour day, both old towns covered, Alcázar of Segovia included, with the option to add Toledo Cathedral. €48 covers a lot of ground — one of the best price/content ratios in the catalog. But to be honest: **it's a long, superficial day**. 3 hours per city is enough for the headlines (Aqueduct, Alcázar, Toledo's Jewish quarter, main streets) but not enough to dig deep into museums, synagogues or local food. If you're in Madrid for just a few days and have only one day for a side trip, this format is **the most efficient**. If you have 2-3 days, do each city separately: Toledo deserves time, and Segovia has its own pace. Important detail: **Toledo Cathedral entry is not included** in the base price. If your priority is the Cathedral and not Segovia, look at [Toledo full-day](/en/cities/madrid/activities/toledo-full-day-from-madrid) (€79 with Cathedral) instead. The upgrade here brings the price to roughly €60-65.

Good to know
What to bring
- ID document or passport
- VERY comfortable shoes: two old towns in one day means many kilometres on foot
- Water and a snack for mid-morning
- A light jacket (Segovia is at higher altitude and tends to be cool)
Not suitable for
- People with reduced mobility (long walking route through two old towns with hills)
- Anyone seeking depth: seeing Toledo + Segovia in one day means an overview, not detail
- Young children who tire quickly (12-hour day)
Things to keep in mind
- It's a LONG day: departure 08:30, return 20:30. Expect real fatigue at the end
- Order Toledo → Segovia or Segovia → Toledo may vary by day
- The tour is bilingual: the guide alternates English and Spanish for the same group
- If you only care about one city, see [Toledo full-day](/en/cities/madrid/activities/toledo-full-day-from-madrid) or a Segovia-specific tour
- Toledo Cathedral is NOT included in the base price. Optional upgrade only

The experience
What you'll see
Two UNESCO World Heritage cities in a single day from Madrid, by coach with an official guide. The route covers Segovia (with the iconic Roman Aqueduct and the Alcázar) and Toledo (with the old town and Jewish quarter). About 3 hours in each city — enough for the highlights, not for going deep.
- Aqueduct of Segovia: 1st-century Roman engineering, one of the best-preserved aqueducts in the world. The walking tour starts here.
- Alcázar of Segovia (entry included): the fairy-tale castle that inspired Disney's Cinderella, perched on a rocky outcrop with views of the Castilian plain.
- Segovia's old town: Plaza Mayor, Cathedral exterior, the Jewish quarter, all on foot with the guide.
- Toledo's old town: cobbled streets, panoramic viewpoint, walking tour through the Jewish quarter and the historic center.
- Toledo Cathedral (optional upgrade): the Primate Cathedral interior is not included by default. Pay at booking for the upgrade or skip it.
How it works
The coach leaves at 08:30 from C. de Julio Camba 13 (next to Plaza de las Ventas, Metro Las Ventas L2/L5). You must be there 15 minutes early with check-in done. The coach leaves on time and there's no refund if missed.
The day usually starts with Segovia (further from Madrid, around 1h15min by road), where you'll have the walking tour around the Aqueduct, the Alcázar visit (entry included), and free time in the old town. Lunch is on your own.
Then on to Toledo (about 1h15min from Segovia), with another walking tour through the old town and Jewish quarter. The Toledo Cathedral interior is optional — if you booked the upgrade, the guide takes you in; if not, you'll see the exterior.
The return to Madrid is around 20:30. Total duration is 12 hours and the order can flip depending on the day's logistics.
Who I'd recommend it to
- If you have just one day for a side trip from Madrid and want to see two UNESCO cities.
- If your interest is broad cultural overview, not deep exploration of any single site.
- If you don't want to drive, navigate trains, or piece together separate tours.
- If €48 fits your budget better than separate tours for each city.
Who I would NOT recommend it to
- If you want to see Toledo properly (Cathedral interior, museums, El Greco at leisure). The Toledo full-day at €79 covers it with the Cathedral ticket included.
- If you have limited mobility. 8+ km on foot across two old towns with hills and cobbles.
- If you want gastronomy too. There's no time to enjoy a long Castilian lunch — eat fast and move on.
- If 12 hours is too long for you or your kids. Look at the Toledo half-day (5 hours) for a shorter format.
Accessibility
Tour not suitable for wheelchairs. Both cities have steep slopes, cobbled streets, steps, and total walking exceeds 8 km.
Cancellation policy
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the experience for a full refund.
