Our take

The CHEAPEST Alhambra ticket in the catalogue (€18). The big catch: it does NOT include the Nasrid Palaces, which are the main reason most visitors come to the Alhambra. This ticket only gives you access to the Generalife, the Gardens, the Palace of Charles V (the 16th-century building that breaks up the Nasrid complex), the Mosque Baths and the Alcazaba (military fortress). Honestly: if this is your first visit to the Alhambra, DO NOT buy this one. You'll miss the Nasrid Palaces (Court of the Lions, Hall of the Ambassadors, Hall of the Kings...) — the mosaics, the coffered ceilings, the inner Nasrid gardens. They're 60% of the monument. Buy the full ticket with Palaces or a guided tour that includes the Palaces. This ticket only makes sense in three scenarios: (1) you've visited the Palaces before and only want to revisit the Generalife and gardens, (2) the Palaces are sold out for your date (the Alhambra caps Palace visits and they fill up weeks ahead), or (3) you're on a very tight budget and just want to set foot in the Alhambra, even if only the outer areas. With 2,256 reviews and 4.5 / 5, satisfaction is decent — but reviewers tend to be visitors who knew what they were buying. Read carefully before booking.

The experience

Alhambra Gardens and Generalife Ticket (without Nasrid Palaces)

The CHEAPEST option in the catalogue (€18) but it does NOT include the Nasrid Palaces — the main monument. Only makes sense if you've already seen them, they're sold out for your date, or you're on a tight budget.

Accessibility

Limited access for people with mobility problems. The Alhambra complex has ramps in some areas but the ground is very uneven (cobbled with elevation changes). Pushchairs are NOT allowed in the Nasrid Palaces, Generalife, Alcazaba or Partal — use the carriers from the cloakroom.

Cancellation policy

NO free cancellation — Alhambra tickets are nominative and non-refundable. Confirm availability and date before purchasing.

Frequently asked questions

Why does it NOT include the Nasrid Palaces?
The Nasrid Palaces are the jewel of the Alhambra and have time-slot-limited access. This ticket is the BASIC version without the Palaces — only Gardens, Generalife, Charles V, Baths and Alcazaba. If you want to include the Nasrid Palaces, look at the general skip-the-line ticket with Palaces from €25-30. This one only makes sense if: you've already seen the Palaces before, you're only coming for the Gardens / Generalife, or the Palaces are sold out for your date and you at least want to see the rest.
Is it really skip-the-line?
Yes — you go straight through the control with your QR/ID without queueing at the ticket office. In high season the ticket office queue can be 1-2 hours; with an advance ticket, you're in within minutes.
How much time do I need for what's included?
Between 2 and 3 hours to see Gardens, Generalife, Alcazaba and Palace of Charles V without rushing. The ticket is valid for the whole day, so you can take breaks. If you stick to just the Gardens and Generalife, 1.5h is enough.
Is the Alhambra worth visiting without the Nasrid Palaces?
Honestly, NO if this is your first visit. The Nasrid Palaces are 60% of the monument's value. But YES if: you've seen the Palaces before (and just want to revisit the gardens), the Palaces are sold out for your date (something is better than nothing), or you only want to see the Generalife and the gardens (which are exceptional in spring and summer). The Generalife in bloom is worth it on its own.
